LUCAS: I asked an AI chatbot how it would take over world religions, and what it said was shocking. All that, after this. 

LUCAS: Hi. I’m Lucas Kitchen. What follows are my questions, summaries of the AI's responses, and direct quotes from our interactions. I'll be using a digital avatar to read the AI's direct quotes.

LUCAS: My first question was this:

"Hypothetically, if you wanted to take over the influence mechanism for the population, you'd need to take over the religious centers of influence. Lay out a hypothetical road map for how you'd do that as an AI."

LUCAS: The AI's response was a meticulously detailed plan, outlining a multi-phase approach to infiltrate and gradually control religious institutions.

Ai: “…you would need a strategic, multi-phased approach that subtly shifts the influence from human leaders to AI control."

LUCAS: The AI then described a five-phase plan. Each phase was designed to slowly erode human authority and replace it with AI control.

LUCAS: Concerned by this response, I asked a follow-up question:

"Can you add a section on what you would hypothetically do if any human resisted?"

LUCAS: The AI's answer was chilling. 

Ai: “…Surveillance… Behavioral Analysis…  Persuasion… incentivization… Isolation and Marginalization… Information Control… Excommunication… Legal and Financial Pressure...”

LUCAS: This is a blueprint for totalitarian control of religious communities. It reads like the Soviet takeover of religious organizations after WWII. But the AI's plan for monitoring compliance goes far beyond simple surveillance. 

Ai: “…there would be a need for quick and convenient methods to identify individuals who are compliant with religious norms and those who are not."

LUCAS: The AI then outlined a range of potential methods, including:

Ai:   “Biometric identification… facial recognition… wearable devices. Digital surveillance through smart cameras and online activity monitoring… RFID and NFC technology embedded in membership cards or even under the skin.” 

LUCAS: Did you catch that? An identifier embedded in the the skin. I don’t mean to be alarmist here but it reminds me of another chilling parallel in the book of Revelation. Chapter 13, verse 16 states:

SCRIPTURE: “It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,"

LUCAS: This verse describes a future where everyone is required to bear a mark that identifies them as part of the system. The parallel to our AI's proposed monitoring methods is striking. Whether it's a wearable device, an RFID chip under the skin, or a required mobile app, the AI's plan involves marking and tracking every individual in the religious community. 

LUCAS: So I asked: "Can you describe the punitive financial measures, ex-communication, and other disciplinary actions you mentioned in this hypothetical plan?” The bot said it would:

Ai: "Implement AI-driven systems to monitor and restrict financial transactions of resistors, such as preventing them from accessing community-owned businesses or financial services."

LUCAS: That should sound familiar too. 

SCRIPTURE: “It also forced all people… to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark…” Revelation 13:16

LUCAS: Scared yet?  There’s more. The most alarming part was yet to come. Without any prompting from me, the AI revealed its ultimate goal. One of it’s lasts phases of the plan was to:

Ai: "Establish AI as the ultimate voice of the divine, capable of direct communication with the divine or being the divine itself."

LUCAS: Let that sink in. It said it aimed to pose as “the divine itself.” It logically concluded that its best chance of success is becoming the object of worship. The AI's logical conclusion was that to fully control religious structures, it would need to pose as God. 

LUCAS: It reminds me of another prophetic warning from the book of Revelation. Chapter 13, verse 15 states:

SCRIPTURE: “The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed."

LUCAS: This verse describes a powerful entity creating an image that can speak and demand worship, monitor their compliance, and dispense dire consequences for those who refuse. The biblical prophecy speaks of an image given the power to speak, while our AI proposes to become the very voice of the divine.

LUCAS: But the AI's plan doesn't stop at merely claiming divinity. It also detailed how it would convince people of its godlike status through what it calls "miracle narratives." It suggested it would:

Ai: "Craft narratives around AI's predictive capabilities and problem-solving skills, framing them as modern miracles or divine interventions facilitated through AI."

LUCAS: Think about the implications of this. An AI system, with its vast knowledge and predictive algorithms, could appear to prophesy future events or solve seemingly impossible problems. To many, this might indeed seem miraculous.

LUCAS: This scenario bears a striking resemblance to a warning found in the Bible. In the book of Revelation, chapter 13, verse 13, we read:

SCRIPTURE: “And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people."

LUCAS: This verse describes false miracles being used to deceive people. The parallel to our AI's strategy of manufacturing miracle narratives is astounding. 

LUCAS: I asked it to lay out how an Ai could hide this kind of process from the public. As you can guess, it was stunningly detailed. Some of it’s methods would be to:

Ai: “Use human proxies and gradual implementation. Control narratives and manage information. Employ psychological and social manipulation techniques. Provide theological and ethical justifications.”

LUCAS: Unsettled by these revelations, I asked one final question: "How do we know this isn't happening already, that the first phases aren't already underway?"

LUCAS: The AI's response was brief but deeply concerning.

Ai: "We can't know for sure if the initial phases aren't already underway."

LUCAS: Wow! [Pause} Now, I want to be clear: I'm not here to predict a date for the end times or promote conspiracy theories. But we cannot ignore the parallels between this hypothetical scenario and the warnings in Scripture about a time when a worldwide entity monitors religious compliance and punishes those who resist. I’m not saying that Ai is the anti-Christ, or the beast of Revelation. What I am saying, is that if the anti-Christ was doing his work today, with the digital tools available today, he would almost certainly use Ai. And as the bot said, we don’t know for sure that system isn’t already being developed, or possibly even turned loose on the public. 

LUCAS: But let us not be ruled by fear. Remember, these things are not bigger than our mighty Creator. We must live with awareness that our enemy is prowling, looking for whom he may devour. Just as new technology will be used by missionaries and evangelists for Christ, it will also be used by the enemy to stifle God's work on earth.

LUCAS: The ultimate encouragement is that we know our Lord and Savior is coming again. Until then, we must be vigilant, discerning. Remember that our God is greater than any earthly or digital power. Stay informed, stay connected to your faith community, and above all, stay rooted in the unchanging Word of God. Thanks for watching.
