Distant Deity or Close Creator? What Is God Like? | Seeker Series Ep. 2

What is God actually like?

Is He a distant force… or a personal Creator who is involved, intentional, and good?

In Episode 2 of The Seeker Series, we go back to the opening chapters of Genesis to see what the Bible actually reveals about God. From the very beginning, a pattern emerges: God creates, evaluates, and prepares. Creation isn’t random or chaotic—it’s ordered, purposeful, and repeatedly called good. And at the center of it all—human beings.

Genesis shows that humans are uniquely made in God’s image:

Designed for relationship

Given responsibility

Invited into a life of purpose

God doesn’t remain distant. He speaks. He provides. He places humanity in a world prepared for them. From the very beginning, the picture we’re given is not of an impersonal force—but of a God who is personal, purposeful, and good.

But that raises a bigger question: If God is like this… why do we experience suffering, evil, and death?

That’s what we’ll explore next.
