WRITE:TALK is a blog series about the craft of Christian writing.

Jesus taught us that as believers we are the light of the world. Christ warned us not to hide our light under a basket. Imagine that the power goes off in your home late one night and you light a candle. Then you put it under a large kitchen cooking pot so that no light escapes. Silly, right? Your family needs the light you have, or else they will run into things and get hurt. We have what the world needs, so we should let it shine for everyone to see. This is a dark world that needs what we have. One great way to let your light shine is to write stories that encourage, enlighten and educate people about Christ. Jesus did this in his stories. We call them parables. They are up-to-date, common event stories that teach us important lessons about God and His plans.
I hope you are considering submitting a story for our first WRITE;TALK Awards. Your deadline is July 1st, so you have time to craft a short story to send in. Or if you find a story of yours from your past to submit, that is fine. If you are hesitating, let me try to help. I can think of three reasons you might not submit a story:
So, with those reasons resolved maybe you will step out in faith and create that story that someone needs to hear. Here are your categories.
Categories:
The original short story entries should be 1000 to 10,000 words in length except for categories 5 and 6. Please do not submit stories that are AI-generated in part or whole.
DEADLINE: All works should be submitted by July 1, 2024. You may submit more than one entry. You may submit a donation to the ministry of FGI, but it is not required to enter the contest. Submit your story as a PDF document, in 12 point, upper/lower case, Times Roman font, or similar, to: Info@freegrace.in.
We will review all of the entries and pick the winners that may appear on this website. Awards will be given to the winners in each category, including a certificate of achievement.
When submitting your PDF, please include the category in the email, and your age if you are in categories 5 or 6.

My comment is just a follow-up on your contest. I submitted my contest entry last month and followed it with a donation. I received confirmation of the donation but did not get one for my contest entry. I send out my emails through my company, Telephone Warehouse, telephonewarehouse@comcast.net, and sometimes my emails get filtered into a spam file. I am very much looking forward to the results of your contest.
Thank you and God Bless,
