Saving faith is believing in a person, that Jesus is the Messiah, the Divine and human Son of God, not believing in the promise of eternal life. Some of the things we receive at salvation :righteousness, justification, regeneration, forgiveness of sins eternal or everlasting life ect..Do I need to be convinced or persuaded of all these things in order to receive them? No. If a believe that I get eternal life because Jesus promises it but don't believe in His humanity and Divinity, I've got nothing, no salvation. If Jesus gives eternal life to all who believe in him for it but I believe he is one of many messiah's am I saved? No. If I believe in His promise but believe he is the prophet of Allah, Buddah, Sidharta ,Shakti, Visnu do I have eternal life? No."If you do not believe that I AM HE, you will die in your sins.John8:24
