What if God wants to be your friend?

Had a great day with my dad in Zion National Park. He painted by the river while I wrote. We walked the river, hit the museum, then rode the canyon just looking. I’m lucky — over the years he’s gone from the guy in charge to my best friend. I think that’s what God wants with us too. We start a little afraid of what He might do. Walk with Him long enough, and you become His friend. Jesus said, “No longer do I call you servants… but I have called you friends” (John 15:15). I hope your walk with God is moving toward friendship — that’s where the best stuff is.
