According to factsandtrends.net Easter is the number one highest church attendance day of the year. Whether you are a regular attendee or once-in-a-while goer Easter is the day you get all dressed up in abnormally bright-colored clothing and head to church. We celebrate the incredible story of Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection.
What I find so interesting about the accounts of this story is the fear and absence of His disciples during His crucifixion and the lengths He had to go to convince them of His resurrection. Which begs the question, "What did they believe about Him?" We learn the answer to this question from Peter in John 6:68-69.
...we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
John 6:69
This term, "the Christ" is repeated many times in the gospel of John. Jesus and Martha's conversation tells us what it means.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25-27
She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."
Being the resurrection and the life means Jesus will bring those who believe in Him back from the dead and keep them alive forever. He's claiming to be the giver of eternal life to all those who believe in Him for it.
So what the disciples believed before Easter was Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God; which means they believed in Him for everlasting life they could never lose. But, what did they not believe?
Long before Easter, the disciples had believed in Jesus and received eternal life. As Easter approached, Jesus told His disciples He would die and rise again, and they flat out refused to believe it. On Easter, all of His disciples huddled in a room mourning His death because they did not believe He would rise again. On Easter, an angel sent word to Jesus' disciples that Jesus had risen from the dead and they did not believe it. On Easter, Mary Magdalene saw Jesus risen. When she told the disciples the good news, they did not believe her. On Easter, Jesus showed Himself to the disciples. He let them feel His wounds. They did not believe He had risen until they saw Him eat. Until Easter, the disciples did not believe Jesus would die for their sins and rise from the dead. Despite their unbelief concerning the resurrection, they were already saved!
Millions of people today believe Jesus died and rose again for their sins but, millions among those millions do not believe Jesus gives eternal life that can never be lost to those who believe in Him for it. It is possible to believe Jesus died and rose, but not have believed the single most important truth: the saving message. If a person believes in Jesus for eternal life they have it. It starts at that moment. It will last forever no matter what.

John 11:25-26
Maybe you believe a handful of things about Jesus, but have not yet believed the essential saving message. Do you believe in Jesus for everlasting life? He is offering you eternal life, believe in Him for it, and you have it forever.
This brief article from a 'free grace' organization rightfully acknowledges that none of the 12 Jewish apostles believed and trusted in the crucifixion of Jesus, God the Son, as payment for their sins, His burial with their sins, and resurrection without their sins as the only basis for their eternal salvation from the lake of fire. What the article fails to acknowledge is the undeniable fact that it is impossible that they were teaching it as the content of the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM they had been proclaiming for more than three years! The article concludes the life saving message today is to believe on Jesus for eternal life.
This is NOT the gospel that is able to save anyone today. That's an INCOMPLETE gospel. One MUST believe and trust ALONE in the GOSPEL OF CHRIST proclaimed by God through the ONLY apostle, Paul, for the age in which we are living... The 12 Jewish apostles were sent to the 12 tribes of ISRAEL and are NOT the apostles to anyone living today under the dispensation of grace without any law covenant, old or new.
Here's the gospel of Christ that saves today...
👉Yes... Jesus is God the Son! Without that foundation it's impossible for a person to be saved.

Whether it's reformed covenant theology or free grace dispensational theology, as long as a person clings to the false beliefs that the 12 Jewish apostles taught the same gospel as Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles (and Jews without distinction), and the Body of Christ began in Acts 2 and not Acts 9 with Paul as its first member, confusion and twisting of the scriptures will persist.
It's really simple to understand the scriptures when a person acknowledges the following truths presented in the scriptures...
👉Two agencies... Israel and the Body of Christ
👉Two operating systems... Law and Grace
👉Two gospels... gospel of the kingdom and gospel of Christ
👉Two destinations... Earthly kingdom and Heavenly destination
👉One way... Through Jesus Christ, God the Son
Why would God have kept the gospel of Christ and the Body of Christ secrets prior to revealing these 'mysteries' to Paul?

[7] but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Why do most professing Christians deny the unique apostleship of Paul and the unique gospel of Christ revealed to Paul, but instead dangerously blend it together with the contents of the gospel of the kingdom? They refuse to obey the following commands of God revealed through Paul...

( Mark 9: 31,32 ) states :Jesus said to disciples , "The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men & they shall kill him; & after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying & were afraid to ask him.'

(Luke 18 : 34 ) :' They under stood none of these things This saying was hidden from them & they did not grasp what was said.'
Jesus Himself said, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” (John 13 : 7)
(Luke 24:45) states : After resurrection, " He opened disciples minds so they could understand the Scriptures. "
(John 20 : 8,9 ) states :' Till His resurrection, they knew not the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.'
( John 2: 22) is the consistent verse : Which states : 'When He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this, & they believed the Scripture & the word that Jesus had spoken.'

Good thoughts. I think they just didn’t want to believe he really was going to die.
Of the plethora of movies played around Easter concerning the resurrection, I kept thinking” where are the disciples “? They were conspicuously absent- from fear, disbelief, not wanting to accept their new reality.
I think they hid because they knew that they could be arrested at any time and be executed or imprisoned for being associated with Jesus. I think that’s why John is the only disciple mentioned as being present with the women at the Crucifixion. He was Jesus’ favorite disciple and the only one who died of old age. All the rest were executed.
