So I’m in the Narrows in Zion National Park, and it tends to be a little bit shadowy in places as you go down through it, but I came around the corner and there was this blinding wall of light, which is pretty amazing. It’s wet and the sun is glinting all of it, and it’s just kind of a reminder in our spiritual life. Sometimes things feel dark, sometimes things feel like there’s no way out, and then light gets through. Especially if you’re a believer, if you believe in Jesus — He said we ought to move toward the light. We ought to always be moving toward that location where the light comes from. And so today, as you think about your prayer life, your life, and studying God’s word and fellowship, I hope that you move more toward the light, and you start seeing light right there in that dark canyon.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12, NKJV). That sudden wall of light in the Narrows is a small picture of what following Him does in a shadowed stretch of life.
