The sky fanned out with rainbowic ribbons of borealis. The colors of the aurora above painted the faces of the people who watched. The shimmering light in the sky was a sign that the royal broadcast of the festivities had begun. The music that would follow, Avi’s voice, was being broadcast across the entire earth, heard by every kingdom inhabitant, whether in the seven provinces, in Jazira, and the Craggy mountains, or across the seventy-two nations.
Avi closed his eyes, blocking out the massive crowd. He let his arms fall to his sides. He opened his mouth and invited the King’s words and melody to flow through him.
In this majestic kingdom Earth,
Many thrones were His to prepare,
For those to sit and judge in mirth.
The King’s authority they now share.
In days of old, they were persecuted.
Many found their end by martyrdom.
For the King's word, they were executed.
By way of blood, they now have come.
They did not worship the evil one,
Rejecting dark designed demonic plans.
Despite the deceiver, they have overcome,
By offering not their heads nor their hands.
Avi could feel the music swelling. David's musicians had joined in, and the thumping rhythm gave life and depth to the tune. The ground rumbled, and the sound echoed throughout the plaza, as too, the world heard the ringing.
Suddenly, the massive crowd erupted in singing as if they shared one multitudinous voice. The pitch-perfect crowd belted out the sound in a thousand part harmony. None of them had ever heard it before, but their hearts gushed with the refreshing stream of harmonious flow which found its headwater source in the Lord of Life, Himself. The song had color and shape and substance as much as anything Avi had ever touched or seen before. The people sang:
When thy Kingdom came,
They came to life to reign,
With Messiah the ever old,
A thousand years foretold.
This is the first resurrection.
Happy and holy is the one,
who shares in its perfection.
In rising, victory was won!
After repeating the refrain three times, the crowd stopped with such immediacy that it would have startled anyone who could listen apart from being led by the spirit. The tune turned toward a somber minor and then lifted back toward the major. Avi, David, and Zaria sang as a trio, the last words:
The second death is coming,
But has no power over them.
They are priests of God and King.
A thousand years, they reign with Him.
