I'm in Kanarra Falls in Utah, where the rock is the whole story. And it's a great place to talk about what we build our lives on. You know, Jesus said whoever hears his words and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain came, the floods came, the winds beat on that house, and it did not fall because it was founded on the rock. He didn't say that the storm will skip the house. He said the house will stand. It's a pretty hike, but it won't hold you when the weather turns bad. Hearing Jesus' words and doing what he says will.
Deeper into Kanarra the canyon narrows into those slot passages — light from a thin strip of sky, sandstone close enough to touch both walls. That's where this one was filmed. The rock is the whole story down there, and it's easy to think walls that high must be enough. Jesus didn't promise the storm would skip the house. He said the house founded on His words would stand. Pretty hike. Wrong foundation if you stop at the canyon itself.
