I'm at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, and it's morning, and the sun is just come up over the mountain to the east there. A lot of the view is looking into Zion National Park, and it's obscured, but there's this little gap in the trees where you can see for miles. It's just a little glimpse of what we'll see when we go into the park tomorrow, but I got up this morning, was walking in the cool morning air, and this thought crossed my mind, and I feel homesick for heaven. For me being homesick for heaven happens when things are going good, when the weather is great, when the scenery is beautiful, it feels like just a glimpse of what we're going to see when we get to be in the kingdom of heaven. And Jesus promised to return, and I'm looking for him to keep that promise. So today, maybe think a little bit about your future home. If you haven't believed in Jesus, well, maybe it's time so that you can start feeling homesick for heaven.

Shot near Zion Ponderosa — bunkhouse mornings, shoes still drying from the water hike, a little gap in the trees with just a glimpse of Zion. That homesick-for-heaven line came out standing there. For me it hits when things are going good — weather, scenery — like a hint of the kingdom. Jesus promised to return, and I’m looking for him to keep that promise.
