Brother Andrew, born Andrew van der Bijl in the Netherlands in 1928, is a missionary known worldwide as "God's Smuggler." He earned this nickname for his daring mission of smuggling Bibles into communist countries during the height of the Cold War. Despite the dangers, Brother Andrew firmly believed that everyone had the right to read the word of God. His bold actions led to the establishment of Open Doors, an international ministry serving persecuted Christians worldwide. His faith, courage, and dedication to spreading the Gospel, despite immense obstacles, have left an indelible mark on Christian missions.
“Persecution is an enemy the Church has met and mastered many times. Indifference could prove to be a far more dangerous foe.” ― Brother Andrew
